Tone

Def: The low or high pitch of a sounds. Pitch was used in conversations as one of our body languages.

Example:

WE stood by a pond that winter day,
And the sun was white, as though chidden of God,
And a few leaves lay on the starving sod,
--They had fallen from an ash, and were gray. 

The underline words are read with a higher tones.

Tones express the moods as the reader read. It effects,

give out a difference feelings with difference tones.
